About me

How I got here

My path into front-end started in 2017 with Application Development at MBO College Hilversum. Two years in, an internship at Simple Soft Products turned into a part-time job building Angular apps for education, public services and industrial software. Next came Front-end Design & Development at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, which I completed cum laude in 2024. Toward the end of that degree I joined De Voorhoede in Amsterdam as an intern, and stayed.

How I work

I believe in simple, standards-driven solutions. When picking tools, I reach for the least powerful one that does the job. That usually means starting with plain HTML, adding CSS where it helps, and only bringing in JavaScript or a framework when nothing lighter will do. Accessibility isn't something I check at the end, it's part of how every component is built. That's the approach behind design systems like Stamp for PostNL.

What I'm exploring

My focus is shifting towards digital sovereignty and an open, European web. I want to know what it takes to run modern web applications on European infrastructure, and how AI can be used responsibly. I write about it on my blog.
